10 Months

10 Months

22 lbs. (unofficial)
30 in. (unofficial)

We celebrated Hudson's first Halloween! We were last minute costume finders but I love what Landon decided on. He was a cute little lumber jack, bearded and all! It was definitely a weird Halloween, no snow, and really warm. We debated taking a 9 month old out Trick or Treating, but instead spent the night with our friends and their family. Hudson seemed to enjoy all the treats his dad was slipping him.

Hudson has changed so much since newborn days. He is becoming a little man and an adventurous one at that. I think grandparents can vouch that he has no fear! If he sees something he wants, whether its a toy or the keys he will not stop pulling and fighting to get to it. He has even dove head first into the tub to get one of his bath toys. He is so much and fun though and dad is sure loving his no fear personality.

He has mastered pulling himself up on ANY object possible! He will walk along the couch and occasionally let go, but finds his way back to the couch very quickly. He hasn't ventured to the stairs yet, which is a good thing, but we awaiting the day that he does.

After 10 months we finally have two teeth! He was so sweet while those little buggers were cutting through. He got really cuddly and just wanted to be held. I would just snuggle him and put on a movie, he would sit with me for about 10 minutes, get bored, go off on an adventure, get into trouble and then come back and want to be cuddled again. He is such a sweet boy.

He still loves eating paper... and leafs... and he LOVES keys! He gets really mad when we take those away. He has started to shake his head "no", but only when we tell him to wiggle. He is such a good eater! He loves all food and lots of it. He also loves babies and is always chasing after Rio, he finds it funny when Rio growls at him. He is even starting to say Bubba when we are around other dogs.

I can definitely say I'm going to have my hands full as he is getting older, but what an adventure and what a joy he brings into our life.

9 Months

9 Months

21.7 lbs (68%)
29.5 lbs (81%)
18 in. OFC (62%)

We've got a mover! At the beginning of his 9th month he was very slow at crawling and he would do really well when we bribed him with food. NOW HE IS EVERYWHERE!!! He is very intrigued with the stairs, we haven't gotten a gate yet so we just have to watch him carefully while we are upstairs. He has also pulled himself up to standing a few times, he can get on his knees really well.

He can now sit up on his own, like he can push himself from his belly to a sitting position! He has been able to sit on his own for a while but actually putting himself into the sitting position is recent. He loves to clap! I think he figured that out from watching so many volleyball games.

He loves paper and cords. Not sure why he loves to eat paper... it has definitely made baby proofing interesting. We've needed to move all books and paperwork to higher shelves. He loves getting into Rio's food and water. We put the food dish on the bathroom sink but he still goes for water. He gets so mad when we shut him out of that room.

Hudson loves his dog more and more. When he is in a bad mood he will try to snuggle Rio, which Rio does NOT like, but it always cheers Hudson up.

He has started this new thing when he wants to be held he just crawls into your legs and just keeps plowing until you pick him up, there is a little bit of whining in the process, but it's really cute (most times).

He LOVES LOVES LOVES food! Oh! Whenever he sees us eating, he wants some and will charge to you with mouth open to get some. He can drink out of a straw now, what a great invention! He never really grasped the concept of tipping his head back with his sippy cup, but he understands the straw really well.

8 Months

21 lbs. (unofficial)
29 in. (unofficial)

BYU football season began! Landon was so excited to dress Hudson up in his BYU jersey and loves watching the games with him.

We finally got a high chair! I'm more excited for that, there is nothing more that entertains Hudson than food, so now I'm able to put him in his chair, put some cheerios or fruit on his tray and get some chores done. He is getting way good at using his pincers to pick up food, there isn't much left over for Rio to eat anymore.

I've been coaching volleyball and Hudson has been spending his afternoons and evenings in the gym with me. He loves when people claps at the games, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of doing it himself, but he is getting there

Hudson loves to get his picture taken, he will more than likely smile every time, which is awesome for me! I've been getting more and more pictures, if only I could get a better quality camera so they aren't blurry half the time!

He is a huge thrill seeker, he loves to be thrown in the air, tipped upside down, spun in a circle, anything! He giggles like crazy! He's also getting more and more ticklish, it's so fun to see him smile, I love it!

He is on the verge of crawling! He will get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth and then go back to his tummy. He will pull himself forward on his belly and go in circles but not much crawling yet.

Watching him grow is probably the most fun I've ever had. It's so awesome to see him discover new things, hit new milestones and get bigger and stronger everyday.

7 Months

20 lbs (unofficial)
29 in. (unofficial)

This post is way late, we ended up moving and things were crazy with packing and unpacking and not having internet for a while and I started coaching the freshman volleyball team at Cedar High School. But what a great and busy month! Hudson has now learned to roll from his tummy to his back, so he no longer gets stuck on this belly. Still not very many signs that he is making the effort to crawl, but we are ok with that.

He LOVES LOVES LOVES bath time, the vacuum and Rio. Rio still isn't in love with Hudson, but soon enough I'm sure they will be best friends. He also loves balls, he chooses a ball to play with over any other toy we have, sure makes dad happy!

Hudson comes with me to volleyball practice and will usually sit and play with his toys for a while, once he gets grumpy, I wrap him up on my body and he falls asleep while I keep my practice running. He has been such a good sport coming with me to practices and games. He also loves all the attention from the girls, he is such a flirt!

6 Months

6 Months

19.4 lbs (77%)
28 inches (90%)
17.5 OFC (67%)

Time is flying too incredibly fast! He is already 6 months, he has been in my life for half a year! Well, I guess he was in my life before that, BUT, really in my life for half a year!

Hudson had an exciting month, we went to two family reunions in the month of July and Hudson was finally able to meet all of his Great Grandparents. Both weekends were very fun filled and adventuresome! Our summer travels ended with a fun weekend with my in St. George with my mom and siblings.

He has figured out how to roll from his back to his tummy, but gets stuck there. He is liking tummy time a lot more now that he spends so much time on his tummy. He loves to jump in his bouncer and loves peek-a-boo! He has become such a smiley boy and is actually liking cameras more. He can pretty much sit up on his own, the only times he will tip over is if he is looking up at his dad, so we still keep a pillow behind him for now.

By far, his favorite thing, is still going outside. We don't even have to be doing anything, we could just sit out there and he would be content. No teeth yet, we thought they were coming in a few weeks ago, but no little chompers have broken through yet. He loves his rattle toys and really anything he can make noise with. He likes to slap his hands against tables and anything around him really.

He LOVES his solid food! He always wants to have what we are having, I even had to lay off the solids for a bit because he wasn't drinking enough milk.  For a while he when we put puffs on his tray he would just swipe them away and make messes on the floor, but he is now starting to grasp them and put them in his mouth.

It's amazing to see the small steps babies are able to make and how much they learn at this age. Hudson is such a joy and I love every second of being with him!

5 Months

5 Months

18.4 lbs (unofficial)
26.5 inches (unofficial)

I love how much Hudson is growing! Of course I miss him being little but it's so fun to watch him grow and discover things in this world. He does NOT like tummy time anymore, he will tolerate it for about 2 minutes and then he begins to scream like crazy! He would much rather stand, either in his bouncer or one of us holding him up on our legs. Though, while he is on his tummy he has started doing a little inch worm motion. He lift his bum up in the air and push off with his feet and kind of slide his face against the ground. He doesn't get to far with it but it seems to entertain him enough.

He loves his dog! He could stare at Rio for hours! When we are outside throwing the ball or frisbee with Rio he will just watch us play back and forth and won't complain at all. He also LOVES being outside! If he is fussing and I can't calm him down with any of my regular tricks (putting him in the bouncer, playing peek-a-boo with a blanket, or feeding him puffs) I will take him outside. He is so content.

He still hasn't rolled over yet but he can grab his toes now! I love it, its so stinkin' cute! He has also figured out how to blow bubbles (well really just spit every where) and he now poops pretty much every day! For a while it was only 5-7 days. It probably helps that he likes food so much now. His favorite is definitely sweet potatoes, but pretty much whatever you give him he chows down on!  He is starting to reach for things now and everything goes straight to his mouth (that's expected though).

He is such a fun little guy and are so excited to continue to watch him grow!

Hudson is really loving tummy time, he has also become somewhat of a daddy's boy. He smiles for Landon so easily and if he is sleeping and hears Landon's voice, he will more than likely wake up. His head is getting so strong, its so amazing to watch him get stronger and stronger every day. He will roll on his side now, hasn't made it all the way to his tummy yet, but he is getting there.

Hudson is little social butterfly, if he gets cranky while I am doing chores, I will come to him and start playing with him and he cheers right up. He is definitely starting to recognize us.  The best part is getting him out of his crib in the morning. He smiles so big when I walk in the room (I've probably mentioned that before).

We can usually entertain him really well with the NBA playoffs going on right now. The games on the T.V. catch his attention pretty well, but so does any movie with bright colors (Monsters University, Frozen). We've taken him to the pool a few times and he seems to enjoy it, he doesn't cry or anything, and has started to get his little legs moving every once in a while. His bath time has become a lot more entertaining, he usually just sits in his little seat while he's in the tub, but recently has started kicking and splashing, its really fun.

He has started reaching out for his toys, it's so funny to watch how uncoordinated he is with his hand as he tries to get his toys, but he's getting better and better and grabbing them. We've also started putting him down a little earlier and he is sleeping about 9 hours every night, that's if he's in his own crib, if not he usually wakes up at 3 or 4 while we are out of town, but he really is such good baby.

He is becoming more aware of what's going on around him, it's so fun to watch him grow mentally and physically. We are going to start feeding him solids and I'm super excited to see how that goes!
