Dixcee is a fireball! She has a mind of her own, she is always very determined. She is walking now and has become very adventurous, which will probably lead to some dangerous stunts. She loves to climb on things and attempt some gymnastics moves. She likes to do what Hudson is doing which is most times a little advanced for her little wobbles.

She loves loves loves her blankets… and stuffed animals. She is really loving shoes and socks, kind of weird, but whatever floats her boat! She also likes any kind of baskets or objects she can put things in.

We finished out volleyball season strong, my kids were lucky to have Aunt Brooklyn watch them every day during practice and games. Brooklyn took them to the park and played with them lots and lots. Dixcee loves slides and swings!
She has 6 teeth, which we are very proud of! They've taken a long time to come in so we're very happy to have them.

Dixcee continues to be a little Daddy's girl. She loves being with Dad and runs to him every time he comes home. Landon loves his little girl as well and she survived her first BYU Football season with dad cheering on his team.

Her vocabulary is expanding she can say: buba, ball, ka-ka, da-da, hi, most times she just whines to communicate.  She points at what she needs and whines. She loves milk (needs to drink more) but really loves it, she does not like avocado! That is the only thing we have found she doesn’t like.

Dixcee had her second Halloween, but first dress up, she was so stinkin cute and Hudson did a great job getting candy for the both of them, it was a fun night. We are excited to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with this crazy girl and to see her react to a new baby sister. We love her tons

So much to say about this little girl! She has the most beautiful smile and the most contagious laugh! She is also really good at taking pictures, which makes a mom happy! It has been so fun having a girl, she brings a very sassy personality to our home and has been so fun to watch Hudson learn how to play with her.

She isn't walking yet, she can do everything crawling, why walk? She walks around couches and has been pulling herself up for a while now but hasn't braved to step away from the couch. She also loves walking with us holding her hands, really loves it! She could go for hours with us holding her up, hopefully those first solo steps will come soon! She has mastered going up and down stairs, after only tumbling once.. thats good right?

She still loves outside and I think she is getting used to being in the gym again as volleyball has started. She has started on milk and really seems to love it. Her love for stuffed animals is growing, really she loves anything soft and cuddly. She really loves jewelry, every time I wear any she pulls at it until I give it to her, we ended up just buying some of her own.

Dixcee loves her pup, Rio, so much and her Daddy even more. She has now switched to calling us both dada. She is also really good at making the duck face. So cute!

We celebrated her first birthday at Grandma Anglin's house. Aunt Kelsey made her cake, and she wanted nothing to do with it. Hudson tried to help her enjoy it but she wasn't having it. She was spoiled with lots of gifts and some new soft and cuddly things and she is going to love. We love her so much!

I find it hard to know when a good time is to write about my kids and I understand they won’t remember what happens at this age and so I feel it is my job to write things down.I want them to be able to read about their lives and have something to look back on. It is a huge job and I know I should be better at it, but I do my best and I know my children will be grateful for the memories I am able to write. I also find it a lot easier to write about my kids as they are getting older. Hudson is doing so much more now.

Hudson loves:
puzzles, blocks, balls, Mater, Daniel Tiger and basketball shorts. He loves to be in shorts just like his dad. Every day when Landon gets home from work he runs up to him and says, "shorts dad, shorts dad.” If Hudson isn’t already in shorts he and Landon will get in shorts together. He also really loves pajamas…

He is saying SO SO MUCH! He will copy anything we say! It’s a nice attribute because I think he is learning more words but we also need to be careful what we are saying since he is picking up on it so quickly. I think the biggest worry is what he hears in movies. He likes to repeat lines from movies for example in the movie The Incredibles, Edna at one point while talking with Mr. Incredible says, “NO CAPES,” Hudson loves repeating that one, also in the same movie when Dash is exploring the cave he and Violet are hiding in he says, “Cool… COOL,” and it echoes really loud, Hudson also likes to say that.

He is really loving movies. His favorite right now is The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, The Sandlot, Hotel Transylvania, and of course Cars. He was really liking Aladin for a while, but that is a hit and miss movie for him.

He is the sweetest big brother… most days. When Dixcee gets ahold of one of his toys he gets really upset. But we are trying to teach him if he takes a toy from Dixcee he just needs to find her another toy to play with, so make a trade. But he is usually the first to share with her and always protects her daycare at the gym.

He really loves playing at the pool now. He used to HATE it! Every time water got on his head he would freak out and start crying. He is doing much better now, we are hoping to get him in swimming lessons this summer. He also loves his cousins Bennett and Jill Bean. He will always say, "Miss Bennett, Miss Jill Bean," and we usually end up face timing after that.

11 Months

Dixcee loves climbing and chasing her brother. She loves playing outside, going down slides, otter pops, ice cream and swimming, basically EVERYTHING summer! Which makes sense since she is a summer baby. She got her first tooth!! FINALLY! The biggest milestone of this month.

She's a daddy’s girl through and through. Every time he walks through the door she heads straight for him. She isn't saying many words still, just mama and bubba (Rio). She calls both Dad and I mama.

The Fourth of July was pretty interesting. While Hudson was super scared of the fireworks we did outside, Dixcee really didn't even care. When we were watching the fireworks the city put on Dixcee was entertained and watched for a little bit, but then zonked pretty quick. She is such a sweet girl and we never get cuddles from her, so that was fun!

I lost my mom this month and Dixcee lost her grandma. My mom’s full name is Ronalyn, after her father Ronald and her mother Linda, she named me Nicole Lyn, and I gave Dixcee the middle name of Lyn after my mom and I. It’s been extremely hard, especially knowing that my kids will never really know their Grandma Mortensen. They will never be able to physically see how much she loved them, but I pray they will always recognize her love when they feel it in their hearts.

It's official we have a crawler. It's super fun but makes things slightly more crazy since she would rather be moving then sitting still. Going outside isn't as easy since she crawls through the grass and tries to follow Hudson everywhere. It's great to see her moving though.

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned how much Dixcee LOVES water. She loves splashing in the tub and going swimming. We went to Discovery Museum while we were visiting family and she loved splashing in the activity table they had there.

We also took her to Disneyland for the first time! Of course, she didn't understand too much of what was going on, but she was really excited to get Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Pluto stuffed animal. I love Disneyland, well anything Disney really, and I love taking my kids there to enjoy it as well. She really loved the ferris wheel, but thats the only time I saw any reaction from her on a ride.

Still no teeth for this little Miss... but that doesn't stop her from eating basically everything she wants. She is a super sweet little girl and can't imagine life without this Princess of ours. We love her!
