Dixcee had some awesome firsts this month! She laughed for the first time and rolled from her back to her tummy! I absolutely LOVE her laugh, as anyone would love a baby laugh, but let me tell you, she is the toughest cookie to crack! It takes a lot of work to get her to laugh and I haven’t found the best way to do it yet, she has only laughed maybe twice! But she loves to smile and has the most beautiful smile!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in Idaho this year. It was really fun to see family and Dixcee did really well traveling and is sleeping so much better, even on vacation, but I can definitely tell she enjoys her own bed. She met lots of family for the first time, she isn't eating solids yet so Thanksgiving isn't really a fun holiday for a newborn.

Dixcee is doing great with naps and nursing. Her head is still really small so it's hard to keep bows on her, Landon still takes them off if he sees them on and they fall in her face. I've started taking her (and Hudson) to the gym and she seems to do really well.

She doesn't like to be by herself for very long. She will play and wiggle for a while and then she wants to be with someone. I've been bringing her into the kitchen with me while I'm cooking and she will sit in her rocker seat and just watch. It's been really fun.

Hudson is so sweet with her (and sometimes not so sweet), he will bring her stuffed animals, and ask to hold her, and want her to sit by him. It's super cute, other times he just whacks her face so.... we're working on that.

We love our little princess so so much!

Hudson became a big brother! The day Dixcee arrived was probably strange for him. We had our Bishops wife pick him up from our house as we were headed to the hospital. It was on a Sunday and I'm sure he was confused, our Bishops daughters will babysit him often but he probably didn't know why he was going with someone else. When our Bishop and his family dropped Hudson off at the hospital he was really just excited to see his grandma's who had come to meet Dixcee.  He came up on the bed with me and we handed him Dixcee and he immediately said "no, no, no." It took him a little bit to get used to her, but there wasn't a problem when we left the hospital.

He is growing so so big! It is so fun to watch him learn new words and new skills and watching him become a great big brother! He is
jumping and running, throwing balls and chasing Rio! He wants to do whatever the big kids are doing, which is difficult since they don't know what he's saying.

He can now say here you go (here'go), yells FOOOTBAAALL, says volleyball (mom ball) and is working on a few others. He calls all grandmas and grandpas Ba-ba and says Dixcee pretty well.

He has become a big daddy’s boy! Anything Dad does he wants to do, and right now, that’s golf! He will use anything he can find as a golf club to push his balls around the floor, most of the time that’s a spatula. He still likes any kind of ball but he is most interested in golf and baseball at the moment. Whenever we drive past the fields he yells his word for baseball.

He loves going to the gym with me every day for practice, especially when the basketball players come in when we are finished to shoot around. He wants to be a big kid so bad! Hudson isn’t liking the nursery or day care very much (my day care consists of a baby sitter and toys in the locker room during practice so I can coach).

He is still a huge lover of milk and is now bringing me the jug from the fridge when he wants me to fill is cup. It's so cute, but the worst thing about it is that he can open the fridge. He also brings me string cheese frequently.

He is down to one nap :( but timed so he will sleep while Dixcee is sleeping so I can get some rest. It will be better once volleyball is over since I have to wake him up sometimes to get to practice on time.

He is the sweetest boy around and we love him so much!

Hudson is learning SO MUCH! Maybe it's because I'm writing every three months now. Poor guy probably had a boring summer with me being so pregnant, but we did our best, and he won't remember the things we didn't do ;).

He is talking more and more. Mostly nothing we can understand and he calls EVERYTHING ball. If I got a dollar every time he said ball, I would be RICH! That is really the only toy we need to get him. He loves any kind of ball, but we've noticed he is a very seasonal sport kind of guy, without any pressure from us. He is really into baseball right now. He will carry his foam bat every where and gets really excited when it happens to flash across the TV. I want him to be more interested in basketball, but what little boy wouldn't love carrying around a bat and a ball. We'll see what happens when football comes around.

We started taking Hudson to nursery in May, at about 16 months. Boy has it been nice! He runs in there and doesn't look back (of course, goes right for the balls) but he loves being able to run around. We come home from church and put him down for a nap immediately. He is still taking two naps a day, which is also nice!

Hudson has learned how to climb! He climbs over gates, onto chairs, onto couches. He loves to be outside more than anything (probably not more than having a ball in his hand, but definitely second best). He loves to swing and watch Rio play catch. We planted a garden in May and he loves to take the watering can to the front, fill it with water, and play in it. We've taken him to the pool a few time and he does NOT like it. He clings to us and screams when we try to get him to play on his own. Very strange, and Landon is slightly worried about it (just that he won't grow up to be a swimmer).

He is getting very good at saying mom and dad, along with cheese and keys (I'm really hoping he will pick up please here shortly). He loves to read stories, especially those with dogs involved. Dogs seem to be his favorite right now, whenever he hears them bark he makes his barking noise.

We are getting excited about our new arrival. I'm not sure if Hudson really understands yet. He will pat my belly and say da-da (which he calls EVERY baby) and thats about it. It's getting harder to cuddle him with my big belly, but I don't think he notices. We love him more and more every day and are so excited to see him love his little sister.

The end of volleyball season gave me the energy to help this little girl sleep better! I’m a huge advocate of kids being able to put themselves to sleep. I was really lucky with Hudson since he was able to do it from day one! Dixcee on the other hand was a big crier from the beginning and really like the closeness of being held to sleep. I’m happy to say that with a little tough love and consistency on my part (a lot of days just sitting at home) she has learned to put herself to sleep for all 4 of her naps (her 4th nap is usually just a cat nap if she is acting tired). She is also sleeping a lot better at night, waking up at maybe 6:00 AM. She loves to sleep on her side or sprawled out like her daddy.

Boy is she a wiggler! She is really working hard on rolling over. When she is on her back she pushes her legs to the floor and arches her back and turns her head. She is doing the right motions, just not strong enough, which I think frustrates her. She loves to be on her tummy. If she is really fussy, the first thing I do is face her out so she can watch her silly brother play OR put her across my knees on her belly.

She is getting so big! Time is just flying! We get smiles for days from her! Best thing in the world to wake up to! I can't wait to hear her laugh. She is cooing more and more and really likes to talk when we are around to listen. She is getting used to being more on her own, which is nice so I can get some things done without having to pack her around with me.

She really loves bath time but almost wiggles out of her seat every time! We really have to keep an eye on her when she is in the tub. She is very used to all of Hudson's splashes and hates getting out and lotioned up.

Hudson continues to try to share everything with her, including his food. I am excited for when she can start eating regular food. I love when babies get to that stage. Hudson will bring her toys and loves to lay on her matt with her. Its so much fun to see them interact. I hope they continue to be great friends as they grow up together.

I love my munchkins so so much! They steal more and more pieces of my heart every day, I can't believe there is more to be taken.

Wow does time fly and boy can I call this little princess a gym rat! We are almost through with volleyball season and Dixcee has been such a trooper. We gave her a name and a blessing on October 11th. It was a beautiful day and so happy to see so many people there to support.

Dixcee is becoming more alert and loves to smile! She used to smile tons in her sleep, but she is beginning to recognize Mom and Dad and she gives big smiles for them. She even gives big brother a grin every once in a while.

She isn't the best sleeper, unless we are in the gym... the noise of volleyball lulls her to sleep faster than anything. Hopefully because it's comforting, not because it's boring. She will sleep well for a morning nap, all the rest of the naps I have to either rock her to sleep, or take her on a car ride to get her to sleep (she likes the motion).  Night time sleeping as gotten much better. She will only wake up once, and has done 5 days in a row sleeping through the night. Once volleyball season is over I'll be able to focus a little more on helping her sleep.

She startles very easy, if she doesn't realize we've come into the room and quickly pick her up, she usually starts crying. She is tall like her daddy, her eyes have turned blue, and she's growing just as expected. She loves bath time! Her head is too small for most bows and head bands, but it is so fun having a little girl!

Hudson is still getting used to her. His behavior around her is 50/50: 50% of the time he is very gentle and loving, the other 50% he is very rough and not very nice (though I'm sure he thinks he is being nice). He will run to her bedroom whenever he hears her crying and likes to rock her car seat when we are getting ready to head out the door. I think he is in the right direction to become a great big brother!

First off I just want to say I LOVE HAVING A GIRL! I could just sit and stare at her all day, I find her so beautiful! Her delivery was so smooth and so easy, but it hasn't really been easy since. She is almost the complete opposite of Hudson (it's harder now because I have someone to compare her to). For the first week and a half or so she wouldn't sleep unless someone was close to her, she also wouldn't sleep in her crib. She woke up usually twice a night. Nursing was really rough during that time also. She doesn't have the best latch, which caused a lot of air to get into her belly. It's slowly getting better, but it's not there yet.

She loves her daddy's voice, he can calm her down faster than anyone! I usually resort to putting her in the car and going for a ride. She LOVES the bath, always very content in there, until I take her out, then she screams. I love dressing her up and putting bows on her, Landon will usually take them off once he sees them (only because she has a small head). We are working on tummy time more, but she seems to like it for the most part.

She is definitely going to be a gym rat. She was born on a Sunday and I took her to her first volleyball game the following Tuesday, we've been at practice, games, and tournaments since! Most times I think she sleeps better in the gym. She is our little princess and we love her so so much!

Hudson is learning to be a big brother and it's SO good for him! He never gets jealous of mom holding Dixcee and really likes being around her, most often he will be first in her room when she starts crying (which isn't helping with the sleeping). I can tell he loves her and wants to protect her. She is such a joy to have in our home and we are excited to see her grow and love to love on her!
