2 Years

2 years
35.5 inches
29.4 lbs

I've found it the most fun watching Hudson learn words and trying to pronounce certain letters. I can see in his eyes he is working so hard to mimic the noise I just made and see his tongue trying to create the sound. What comes out is very close most times but not exactly there, I completely understand it takes lots of practice, but I find it so enjoyable to see him struggle in a good way like that. He is putting more words together like “thanks mom” or “Dixcee’s chair." It's so fun to be able to communicate a little more with him.

He is such a daddy’s boy! He mimics everything dad says, especially related to sports. He loves to say “OUT!” when we are at my rec volleyball games and “AWW GEEZ” when Dad's sports teams aren't doing too hot.

He is becoming a great big brother. He likes to share his toys with Dixcee, he will set a golf ball or cracker on her lap and say “here go.”  One sunday he ran into the Relief Society room from nursery and said, “Hi, Dittee” placed a little toy car next to her and said, “here go” and just sat and watched her. Hopefully the beginnings of a great friendship these two will have growing up!

He likes to try to get items “out” of pictures. he will point to it and say “out, out” we just have to tell him it won’t come out. Super cute. He is a Cars fanatic! He would watch that 20 times a day if he didn't get distracted by his other toys. He loves it!

He isn't too fond of the snow, but probably because it's really hard to keep gloves and things on little hands that aren't used to them. I'm sure he will love it eventually. He really loves the neighbors cats and always tries to sneak over there while I'm trying to load the kids in the car.

His favorite toys are still balls, and his toy Lightning McQueen, Mater and Mack. He is starting to really love puzzles and is getting pretty good at putting them together. He also loves to build with his Lego blocks and we got him a marble run this past Christmas that he loves to build with Dad, most times he tries to grab the marble out of the top "whirl-pool" like piece before it even enters the actual run!

He really likes nursery and daycare and has started to say prayers with Mom and Dads help. We have introduced the time out chair, and for a while he would purposely whack Dixcee so we would send him to time out. That changed when we moved the time out chair into his room and shut the door every time we sent him there.

He doesn't eat much, and when he does its on the go, but he loves his milk!... and chips! Almost every day he asks for chips after his nap and every time I tell him he has to wait for Dad to get home to have some. First thing when Dad walks through the door he is begging for chips so bad that he usually can't even change out of his work clothes. He eventually settles down and the two of them share chips as I'm finishing up dinner.

He is such a good kid. Really obedient for the most part and has the cutest mischievous side. He gets into plenty of trouble but usually will say sorry pretty quickly to make amends. He has stolen my heart and continues to steal my heart especially as he calls me "Mama" now. Not mom, not mommy, MAMA! :) it's adorable.
